Small mistakes can mean big delays.

  • You're not sure if you can apply from here or have to go back home to wait.
  • You don't know what counts as proof that your marriage is real.
  • You've heard the interview is hard and your answers have to match your spouse's.
  • Someone offered to file your papers cheaper, and you're not sure they're licensed.
  • You need someone who speaks your language, English, Spanish, Swahili, or Japanese, and is open on Saturdays.

Who you'll be talking to

Solomon Musyimi

Solomon Musyimi has practiced law since 2002 and founded the firm in Southwest Houston to serve the city's immigrant families, from Latin America, from Africa, and everywhere in between, in their own language.

For couples, the firm puts the whole case together: the petition, the evidence that the marriage is real, the work permit while you wait, and preparing you both for the interview. Everything gets checked before it's filed, because small mistakes on marriage cases cost months.

Why a licensed law office

A notario is not a lawyer.

A marriage case is won on the paperwork and the interview. Every year Houston couples pay notarios and document preparers to file it cheaper. When something goes wrong, they're gone.

Notarios & document preparers

  • Not licensed to give legal advice
  • Missing evidence, forms filed wrong
  • No help getting ready for the interview
  • Can't represent you before USCIS

Law Firm of Solomon Musyimi

  • Licensed attorney reviews your case
  • Marriage evidence checked before anything is filed
  • Both of you prepared for the interview
  • Same office since 2002, in your language

Common questions

Before you book.

What is the 10-minute call for?
To see if your marriage case is a good fit. You describe your situation, the office tells you whether it can help and what the next step would be. No obligation. If your case moves forward, fees are explained before you decide anything.
Can I get my green card without leaving the U.S.?
In many cases, yes. If you entered with a visa and you're married to a U.S. citizen, you may be able to apply right here instead of going back home to wait. How you entered matters, and that's exactly what the call helps sort out.
I didn't come in with a visa. Should I still call?
Yes. The options can be different, and some cases need a waiver, but there may still be a path. The call is confidential, and the point of it is to find out what options exist for you.
How do I prove my marriage is real?
Things like a lease or home in both names, a joint bank account, photos together over time, and shared bills. At the interview, your answers and your spouse's answers need to match. The firm helps you gather the right evidence and gets you both ready.
Can I work while my case is pending?
Often, yes. When you apply for your green card from inside the U.S., you can usually apply for a work permit and a travel permit at the same time. The office will tell you what applies to you.
What should I have ready?
Whatever you have: your marriage certificate, your passport and I-94, proof of your spouse's citizenship or green card, and any letters or notices from immigration. If you don't have any of that, call anyway.

Start your green card the right way.

Ten minutes, in your language, to see where your marriage case stands. Pick a time and the office calls you.
